This workshop introduces a practical, hands-on approach to systems modeling, focusing on how to start simple and build useful models that help answer important questions about your system of interest. Whether you’re modeling a technical system, a business process, or even an everyday object, the key is to start with what you know and develop clarity step by step.
We begin with a straightforward “model your SoI” activity that invites participants to choose a system of personal or professional relevance. Through a sequence of guided exercises, we will explore how to transfer our knowledge into a structured, scope-specific representation for better communication and to support better decision-making.
Rather than focusing on any specific tool or language, the workshop emphasizes modeling as a way of thinking. Concepts such as scope, purpose, behavior, structure, and stakeholder concerns will be explored in an accessible and engaging way.

Dr Mohammad Chami is the founder and CEO of SysDICE GmbH, with a distinguished career in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). He is an MBSE expert with extensive academic and industrial experience in modeling languages, processes, and the development and deployment of systems modeling methods, as well as tool customization.
In recent years, his focus has shifted toward the application of artificial intelligence (AI), specifically natural language processing, machine learning and large language models, in MBSE.
Mohammad holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III and two master’s degrees in Electronics and Mechatronics. He has been an active member of INCOSE since 2014.
